Climbing Nevado Vallunaraju & Pisco (06 Days))
Nevado Vallunaraju is located in the northern part of the Ranrapalca Glacier, in the Cordillera Blanca. It can be seen from the city of Huaraz and has an icy climate. Its name is Quechuan, meaning Peak of dreams and has spectacular views of the Cordillera Blanca. It is a mountaineers´ favourite mountain because of its relatively easy access and is also a good way to acclimatize.
Nevado Pisco lies in Cordillera Blanca and forms a part of a mountain range called Macizo de Huandoy. It lies in the central part of Cordillera Blanca, in Yunghay province. It became a popular mountain due to its spectacular views and an easy approach. The normal western route is ideal for acclimatization and many mountaineers use it as a finish of their trek or as a beginning to acclimate before climbing technically more challenging mountains.

Quite some time before sunset we start our climb to the top. Our headlamps lightening the way through stony grounds and glaciers.

On the other side of the glacier, thankfully, dark rocks serve us a better way to the top of Nevado Pisco. Soon we arrive at the entry of the glacier Nevado Pisco, So we have to follow the steep ascend before reaching the top of 5752 meters.
